At Socks Off Theatre, we help young people find their confidence, creativity, and voice through performance and play!
We believe drama is about more than scripts and stages — it’s about imagination, teamwork, and the freedom to express yourself. Our club offers a fun, supportive space for 7–14 year olds to explore acting, storytelling, and improvisation, while building skills that last a lifetime.
Socks Off Theatre was founded by Kyla, a passionate performer and teaching artist who first fell in love with drama as a child. A graduate of John Curtin College of the Arts’ Gifted and Talented Drama Program, Kyla is now studying Theatre and Behavioural Science at Notre Dame University, combining her love of the arts with a dedication to supporting young people’s wellbeing.
While teaching and directing youth performances with Into the Mask Theatre, Kyla saw firsthand how drama could transform young lives — helping children gain confidence, make new friends, and flourish as creative performers.
Through Socks Off Theatre, Kyla aims to create a joyful, inclusive space where 7–14 year olds can build theatre skills, express themselves, and connect with others — no screens, just imagination and creativity.
Drama is all about teamwork, sharing ideas and making friends. Away from their devices, children rediscover the joy of collaboration and real connection.
We nurture every child's self-expression, creative process and unique perspective. Drama provides a space for kids to be playful and tell their stories.
At Socks Off, supporting wellbeing and mental health are a big part of our purpose. Our classes are designed to boost self-confidence, build empathy and help young ones through the challenges of life.
